Solid Block, High Maintenence

The board functions perfectly and doesn't slip at all, but it requires dedicated conditioning with mineral oil to keep it from looking dull after multiple washes.

True Commercial Feel

Thick, rock-solid, and incredibly durable. It can easily withstand aggressive chopping with heavy butcher cleavers without chipping or cracking. Great block.

This board has a serious 10 lb presence on my countertop. The rubberized feet lock it safely onto my granite surface, so there is zero sliding during heavy meal prep.

Good buy

Works really well! Love that it is food safe material. Keeps our wood cutting boards (trying to go to all wood) nice and taken care of. We still use dish soap on our wooden cutting boards which can dry them out. Helps keep that durable and still ready to use. A little goes a long way so although the tin is smaller, it lasted a good while. For the money, great value. Would buy again.

Works Great

This tin is heavy duty, sturdy, diurable, and easy to open. You simply take a brush or paper towel, take ab it out and rub it on your board. Easy to do and makes the board shine, as well as protects it. Every wood cutting board owner should have some.

Great cutting board wax

I love my cutting boards and they are work horses at my house. To ensure that my boards last as long as possible I have always applied mineral oil. I saw this product and thought I would give it a try. It states that it is food safe which is important since I will be using on a surface where I cut food. The wax is in a metal tin in a solid form. Following instructions I was able to treat my board using this product easily. I really loved how much my cutting board seemed to improve with one use. I think that this product will help extend the life of my cutting board more than just the mineral oil will. I look forward to the continued use and would recommend this to others seeking to keep their working surfaces happy.

Easier and lasts longer than mineral oil

I used it to recondition a fairly beat up cutting board. Normally I use food grade mineral oil, but it seems like I have to recondition it frequently. With this stuff, the finish lasts longer, really helps keep liquids from soaking in and it looks better. It also makes the surface a little smoother to the touch.

Long lasting moisturizer for wooden cutting boards!

We've switched to only using wooden cutting boards at home, and my husband has a LARGE butcher block he uses everyday, so we're doing our best to keep it well maintained. We used mineral oil initially, but it dried out quickly. We also tried coconut oil, but that was very messy. That's when we tried this cutting board wax, and we're fans! The blend of beeswax and mineral oil keep the cutting boards conditioned for days, and has made it so we have to moisturize them less frequently. The boards actually look beautiful after an application, and we don't have any concerns cutting on them after moisturizing since it's food grade. The wax goes on smoothly, and doesn't leave any sort of smell on the cutting boards. We used a paper towel to apply, but you could use a kitchen rag and it would probably make less garbage. The only downside we've found to this wax is that you do have to buff for a bit to remove excess wax from the surface, and it is a small tin, so if you're treating large cutting boards you will go through this product quickly.Overall we were very impressed and will be purchasing again!

Easy to Apply & Made a Noticeable Difference

I’m really impressed with this product! It was incredibly easy to apply. The texture spreads smoothly and absorbs nicely without leaving a greasy or sticky residue behind. I also love that it’s made with all natural ingredients, which is important to me when using something on surfaces that come into contact with food.I used it on a well-worn wooden cutting board that was starting to look dry and dull, and the difference was noticeable almost immediately. The wood looks richer, more hydrated, and refreshed overall. It brought out the natural grain beautifully and made the board look close to new again.A little goes a long way, and the results speak for themselves. you can see the before and after in my photos. I’ll definitely continue using this to maintain my wooden cutting board. Highly recommend if you want an easy, natural way to keep them nice!

Every kitchen needs this

Though Im not an expert and this is the first cutting board wax Ive ever used, it seems to do the trick. Absolutely no scent that might transfer to food. A little goes a long way, this will last you a very long time. Very easy to apply with a dry cloth. Pictured you can see the treated section (circle in the middle) vs the raw wood.

Wax has comparable performance to our usual butcher block oil, but lacks safety certification

My husband, the chef in our house, owns and uses several heavy wooden cutting boards. I sometimes wonder why he doesn't just use our other wood-fiber composite cutting boards that are easier to take care of (since wood needs periodic treatment, so they don't dry out). Not my job, not my decision, I guess. Therefore, he uses expensive butcher block oil (

like this, see photo) each year with his wood cutting boards. I asked him to compare this board balm product to his usual butcher block oil, so he treated one side of a board with each. The good news is this board balm product seemed to do the same quality job as his usual oil. Both clearly soaked in and were absorbed after treatment, so that bodes well for keeping the wood preserved. We couldn't distinguish any differences between the two sides between this new board balm and the butcher block oil he's normally used for the past 5 years. However, at this short time we also cannot see, nor compare, their long-term protection against drying out. It's also difficult for me to compare the value and price point because this product is a wax whereas our usual one is an oil (how many board applications can be done?). Our usual product is made in the USA and NSF safety certified, which gives us confidence given it is used with something that touches the food we eat and cook with. This product looks professionally packaged and advertises that it is safe for food applications, but it is made in China and has no similar third-party verification. For these reasons I deducted 1 star from my review.

Great conditioner for maintaining wooden cutting boards

My husband is a chef, so we have a lot of wooden cutting boards that get heavy use. I got this wax to help maintain them, and it works really well. The boards absorbed it nicely and immediately looked refreshed without feeling greasy.I like that it’s food safe and easy to apply, and a little goes a long way. It’s been great for keeping our cutting boards in good shape and protecting the wood from drying out. Definitely a must-have if you cook often or use wooden boards regularly.

Big upgrade for my cutting boards! Easy to use and worth the cost

I have to start by letting you know that I’ve never really given my cutting boards the care they deserve... I’ve always just used cutting boards, washed them, and called it good. This was my first time using a proper board wax/conditioner and the difference honestly surprised me.Application was as simple as applying a layer of wax to a board and letting it sit :) I followed the instructions and worked it into my largest, most used board, even though it’s made up of lots of small wood squares with grain going every direction (instructions say to apply in the direction of the grain). It still absorbed well and spread easily. I let it sit overnight like recommended and wiped it down thoroughly the next morning. The before and after difference was pretty dramatic. The wood color deepened, the surface looks healthier, and it even feels better to the touch now! It's much smoother and more conditioned instead of that dry, splintery wood feel. It genuinely made an inexpensive board look and feel like a higher-quality one.It doesn’t leave a weird residue and doesn’t feel greasy after the final wipe down. Just a nice, protected finish. For around ten bucks, this is an easy upgrade to any wooden cutting board or butcher block.I’ll be sticking to the suggested monthly treatment going forward. Definitely recommended if your boards are looking even a little tired. Easily worth the price of admission. For reference, the pictures with the product on top of the board are before applying the product, horizontal photos without the product are both sides immediately after a layer was applied, and the vertical picture is the next morning after wipe down (I apologize, I'm bad a photo editing to add this information directly on the photos :)

Simple mineral oil paste works well

I have a kauri cutting board from New Zealand that hasn't been well cared for. It's the middle of winter and very dry here so I can see it checking on the end grain.I applied some of this paste wax all over and it seemed to go on pretty well. I didn't need to use too much and spent some time working it in.I'm letting it sit overnight and will clean and buff it tomorrow. It seems to work well and my only observation is that it doesn't smell like beeswax at all, I thought it usually has some honey aroma. I guess it's a good thing that it has no odor but made me wonder how to verify the claimed ingredients. In any case, it has clearly helped fix my cutting board so I'm pleased with the wax.

Breathe’s new life into old cutting boards

We all know cutting boards can be quite expensive, so it makes sense to do everything we can to make them last for as long as possible. This food safe, beeswax and mineral oil cutting board wax checks all the boxes! To start with, 6 ounces might not seem like a lot, but let me tell you, this can is going to last you for a long time. The instructions are on the bottom so you don’t have to hang onto the box, which is very nice. The wax itself has kind of like a dry oil feel to it, goes on, very smooth, like any rubbing wax, and buff off to a nice shine once it’s been completely absorbed, and a little goes a long way. There was no noticeable odor to it prior to, during, or after application.Once applied, the deep wood tones of my bamboo cutting board came out, and you can definitely tell a difference between the dry and thirsty before, and the waxed and happy after. It didn’t make any cut marks go away, but it certainly brought my cutting board back to life.Overall, I’m really pleased with it. At just under $10 I think this is a steal! I highly recommend you getting it and plan on making this a permanent part of my kitchen!
