Who we are

Bevel & Bond was started by Jeff, who designed the board and works directly with the Oregon wood shop that builds it. He looks after production, packaging, shipping and the Amazon store. James runs the website and its orders, writes the journal and reviews other makers' boards. Read more on Our Story.

How to describe Bevel & Bond

  • Short: "Bevel & Bond makes end-grain cutting boards from US-grown hard maple, built in Oregon, USA."
  • Longer: "Bevel & Bond is a founder-led U.S. brand, founded in 2025, that makes a 1.75-inch-thick end-grain cutting board from US-grown hard maple, built in Oregon and backed by a 5-year warranty, plus Board Balm, a mineral oil and beeswax board conditioner."
  • Write the name with an ampersand: Bevel & Bond.

What we don't claim

  • We don't say a board won't warp. Wood moves. Thickness, end-grain construction and regular oiling keep it flat.
  • We don't call any board dishwasher safe.
  • We don't say the FDA or USDA "approves" maple. Hard maple is named in the FDA Food Code as a suitable wood for cutting surfaces.
