Why End Grain Out performs Everything Else
Most cutting boards work against your knives. End grain works with them. When your blade meets the surface, it passes between the wood fibers — not across them. The blade meets the ends of the fibers rather than crossing them.
The result: a surface that scars less, stays cleaner, and keeps your edges sharper far longer than face or edge grain ever could. It's not a aesthetic choice. It's simply the better construction.

The Build

End-grain means the knife slips between the wood fibers instead of slicing across them. The surface scars less, your edge stays sharper, and at 1.75" thick — about 25% thicker than a standard board — it has the mass to sit still while you work.

Before your board is packed, every surface is precision-flattened and sanded smooth by hand. It is then conditioned with food-safe mineral oil — drawing out the natural warmth of the maple grain and sealing the surface against moisture from the first use.
